University of Missouri and K.S.R. Education Institutions of India Signs an Academic Agreement
Columbia, MO – October 24, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — University of Missouri administrators announced on October 10, 2011 a 5 year agreement with K.S.R. Educational Institutions of Indian that will provide training and advanced research in nanotechnology and nanomedicine.
This agreement between K.S.R. and University of Missouri will develop a joint facility in India, and the 2 institutions will have an exchange of scientists for training, joint teaching and research programs. Students that are qualified will be encouraged to join in the academic program of the other institution. The 2 entities will do collaboration on hosting national and international nanomedicine & nanotechnology and on their research funding opportunities.
Raghuraman Kannan, Assistant professor of radiology, said “While we have very good capabilities here at MU, K.S.R. has an excellent facility for the development of new research materials,” Michael J. & Sharon R. Bulkstein, well-known Professor of Cancer Research in University of Missouri’s Scool of Medicine who leading University of Missouri’s part said “ In turn, K.S.R. does not have a medical school, so they can send their best students here to learn about our nanomedicine discovery and application efforts.”
Kannan said “Nanotechnology is the future of treating illness,” Nanomedicine features the advancement of nanosensors that can identify harmful microbes or bacteria.
R. Srinivasan, K.S.R vice chancellor of international programs and executive director said “We have had an excellent interaction with the university’s department of biomedicine and mechanical engineering, and we are looking forward to extending these programs to our students.”
K.S.R. is a educational institution group run by K.S.R. Education and Charitable Trust located at Tamil Nadu, India It is established by recognized philanthropist and industrialist, Lion Dr. K.S. Rangasamy. The group of educational institution is located on 400 acres & offers education for all age groups, from doctoral degrees in science, arts, business management, teaching, technical education, engineering, technology, dental and medicine to even kindergartens. K.S.R. has about 23,000 students.
