November Permits Show Housing Continues to Improve in Metro Area

December 18, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Housing production continues to outpace the years since 2008 in cities across the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area. The trend through November continues up as reflected in the monthly average of single family permits. In 2012 that average was 274 compared to 2011 with 192, 2010 with 207, 2009 with 180, and 2008 with 269. Single family permits in November were higher than the yearly average to date and totaled 283 for the best November since 2007. Multi-family housing production continued to climb with 332 permits of which 302 were in Grain Valley, Missouri and 30 in Paola, Kansas, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report

September Area Housing Permits Highest Since 2008

October 25, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- In cities across the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area, housing production continues to climb in 2012 with the total permit number coming in as the highest since 2008, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report. September single family permits increased sharply to 379 over 202 single family permits the same month in 2011. Year to date total permits are the highest in three years with 3,419 permits compared to 2011 with 2,304. In 2008 total number of permits issued year to date was 4,136.

Attorney General Koster obtains indictment against St. Louis man for home-repair violations

Jefferson City, MO - August 31, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Attorney General Chris Koster today said his office has obtained a criminal indictment from the St. Louis County grand jury against Jason Leavy for violating Missouri’s laws related to his home-repair business. Leavy, who also goes by the name Jason Aragon and Michael Aragon, is being charged as a prior and persistent offender for past actions related to home repair businesses. Recently he has operated as TriStar Roofing, Accurate Construction and Quality Roofing. He is currently being held in the St. Louis County jail with a bail requirement of $25,000.

July New Housing Permits Maintain Improvement Trend

July permits increased to 288 single family permits over 265 the previous month. Year to date total permits are the highest in three years with 2,323 permits compared to 2011 with 1,725; 2010 with 1,617; and the 2009 low of 1,207. Also of note in July is an 88 multi-family unit for an apartment complex in Lenexa.
