Attorney General Koster reminds Missourians about deadline to file foreclosure claims from National Mortgage Settlement

-

Jefferson City, MO – January 14, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Attorney General Chris Koster is reminding Missourians whose homes were foreclosed on between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2011, and who qualify under the National Mortgage Settlement, that the deadline for filing a claim is January 18.

Missourians who qualify for the claim – those whose homes were foreclosed on during the 1-1-2008 to 12-31-11 timeframe, and whose mortgage loan was serviced by Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, Citi, or GMAC/Ally – should have received a claim form from the Settlement Administrator. Those claim forms must be postmarked or emailed on or before January 18 to qualify.

Any Missourian who lost the claim form, or who believes he or she qualifies for the settlement but did not receive a claim form, should immediately call the Settlement Administrator’s toll-free number at 1-866-430-8358.

More information about the National Mortgage Settlement is available on the Attorney General’s website at ago.mo.gov and the national settlement website at http://www.nationalmortgagesettlement.com.
