Highway & Transit Chairman Seeks to Build off Innovations Prioritized in Latest Highway Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Representative Sam Graves, Chairman of the Highway and Transit Subcommittee, today led a roundtable discussion focused on innovation in the FAST Act. The newest federal Highway Bill, which Graves helped pass into law last year, established competitive grant programs to promote technologies that increase efficiency, improve safety, and reduce congestion on our nation’s roadways.

“The average American spends 42 hours per year in traffic,” Rep. Graves said. “That’s unacceptable. And while we can’t always build or spend our way out of congestion, technology can help us use what we have more efficiently and plan a better path going forward. Today’s roundtable was a step toward modernizing our infrastructure and taking advantage of the innovations the private sector is developing every day, and I look forward to continuing those conversations with my colleagues on the House Transportation Committee.”
