CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD INKS 155,000-SQ.-FT. INDUSTRIAL LEASE FOR GRAPHIC PACKAGING INTERNATIONAL
The Transaction Represents an Expansion and Relocation within the Kansas City Marketplace for the Tenant
KANSAS CITY, MO – April 20, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., has arranged a 155,000-square-foot industrial lease on behalf of Graphic Packaging International at 5800 Stilwell Ave. in Kansas City. For GPI, which produces innovative and sustainable packaging for some of the world’s best-known brands, the transaction represents an expansion and relocation of the company’s existing finished goods warehouse operations within the Greater Kansas City market.
GPI was represented in the transaction by James Phillpott, Raymond Stache, Elizabeth Pittman, Travis Jackson, John O’Neill, Chris White, Allison Bittel, and Addison Meriwether, all of the Atlanta office of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. Joe Accurso of Kessinger Hunter & Company, a Cushman & Wakefield Alliance firm, was engaged as field broker on the assignment.
“This transaction fulfilled Graphic Packaging International’s requirement for a new and expanded warehouse space located in close proximity to the company’s local manufacturing plant,” said Phillpott. “We were able to locate and subsequently complete a transaction for a site that works best for the tenant.
“The Greater Kansas City industrial market has continued to maintain stability throughout the recent economic downturn and is well-poised for the national rebound,” said Joe Accurso. “When this particular location became available, it was determined that this was the best solution for GPI’s expanded requirement.”
The landlord is 5800 Stilwell Associates, LLC, an investment group formed by Kenneth G. Block of Block Real Estate Services, LLC. The new lease represents the entire warehouse portion of 5800 Stilwell Ave. as well as a portion of the building’s office component. Kenneth G. Block, Zach Hubbard, and Michael R. Block of Block Real Estate Services, LLC represented 5800 Stilwell Associates, LLC.
