Blunt Announces $440,000 Community Development Block Grant for Wright County

-

HARTVILLE, MO – January 08, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Gov. Matt Blunt today announced that Wright County has been approved for a $440,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) by the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED). The grant will be utilized for a wastewater system improvement project.

Wright County officials will utilize the CDBG on behalf of Wright County PWSD No. 1 to construct a wastewater collection and treatment system in the currently unsewered community of Grovespring. The proposed community-wide sewer collection system is needed in order to eliminate existing failing septic systems and to connect homes and businesses that currently utilize individual, on-site wastewater treatment systems.

The CDBG program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, provides grants and loan funds to cities with a population under 50,000 and counties under 200,000 to assist in a variety of public works and economic development projects.
