November 3, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC), which administers the Missouri Housing Trust Fund (MHTF), has received applications from agencies in the latest funding round in excess of $16 million. The agencies have requested MHTF monies for a variety of housing needs, including assistance to homeless shelters, providing rent subsidies and funds for emergency home repairs, and the construction and rehabilitation of low-income rental housing. $3.7 million in funding is available for allocation.

October 28, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC) for more than 30 years has provided low-interest, fixed-rate mortgage options to under-served Missouri households. The agency recently marked a significant milestone in its history, having provided a total of $5 billion in mortgages to more than 82,000 first-time homebuyers.

ST. The plan required no new spending; instead it leveraged existing federal and state resources. JEFFERSON CITY, MO - August 18, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- State Treasurer Clint Zweifel (ZWY-ful) today called on the Missouri Housing Development Commission to pass a multi-million dollar package to provide housing for Missourians suffering from a mental illness at its meeting on August 20 in Jefferson City. The plan requires no new spending; instead it leverages existing federal and state resources by allocating $127 million, or 33 percent, of affordable housing resources for fiscal year 2011 to create needed housing that tackles mental illness and chronic homelessness.

ST. LOUIS, MO - August 13, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The United States Attorney’s Office announced today that John R. Steffen was indicted on fraud charges involving his scheme to defraud The Business Bank of St. Louis by pledging Brownfield Remediation Tax Credits as collateral on a loan, and selling them to use the proceeds for other projects.

July 28, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Monthly permit numbers declined slightly in April while year over year permit numbers continued a modest increase for the fourth consecutive month according to statistics compiled by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (HBA). A seasonally adjusted total of 194 single-family homes were permitted in April, down from a revised total of 207 homes in March.

KIRKSVILLE, MO - February 16, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- State Treasurer Clint Zweifel (ZWY-ful) was in Kirksville today to announce that since January 2009 his administration had made more than $36 million in low-interest loans to farms and small businesses in the northeast Missouri. While at a stop at the Bank of Kirksville, Treasurer Zweifel said 469 loans had been made impacting 398 jobs and 387 farmers in the region. Borrowers in the region will save an estimated $608,000 in interest annually using loans made through the Missouri Linked Deposit Program.

ST. CHARLES, MO - February 5, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- State Treasurer Clint Zweifel (ZWY-ful) was in St. Charles today to announce a $575,000 small business loan impacting 23 local jobs. Treasurer Zweifel made the announcement at Sams Carpet Cleaning and Repair. The low-interest loan, made through the Missouri Linked Deposit Program, will save the company an estimated $37,000 in interest costs. Qualifying borrowers generally save 30 percent on the cost of the loan.
