Attorney General Chris Koster announced today that he has obtained a judgment against a Texas-based home contractor who defrauded consumers in the Kansas City area. JD Global, LLC, and its owner, Jeremiah Osterhoff, contracted with at least sixty-two Missouri consumers for home repair and remodeling supplies they never received. Consumer complaints included shower and hot tub units purchased but never delivered, damaged shower and tub units, and products that did not function as promised

Single Family Housing Holding Steady During Winter Months
Single family housing permits remained steady during January 2014 according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report. With 283 single family units, January was relatively unchanged from the December 2013 count. January 2014 did continue the trend of outpacing every year since 2007 in its monthly total. Multi-family permits are off to a strong start with 538 units permitted in January

Housing Permits Ten Month Total Surpasses Past Years’ Twelve Month Totals
Housing production continues to climb in cities across the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area. In fact, the year to date single family total of 3,463 is higher than the entire yearly totals for 2008-2012. Trends show the fourth quarter is off to a strong start as builders make plans for the winter months. Multi-family housing production continues to climb as October added another 395 units bringing the yearly total to 2,493, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report. Combined permits take the total to 5,956
