“Paleo Kansas City” Showcases KC’s Beachfront Past at the Linda Hall Library

Millions of summers ago, Kansas City was beachfront property: oceans, rain forests, palm trees and giant ferns. Not to mention a strange array of giant creatures — mastodons, mammoths, grizzly-sized sloths — stomping through town. Fast forward to the start of summer 2015 when the Linda Hall Library opens a new exhibition — “Paleo Kansas City” — to invite visitors to go back three hundred million years to see the fascinating fossil remains of life when Kansas City’s home was on the paleoequator. Admission is free.

Another Low Income Housing Project Gets Free Wi-Fi (2)

With help from the residents association, Connecting for Good has installed a small PC lab and free Wi-Fi Internet at Glanville Towers. The ten story facility is located at 730 Nebraska and is operated by the Kansas City Kansas Housing Authority and is for low income seniors and disabled individuals. The network bring free Internet to all 108 apartments at Glanville Towers.
