McCaskill-Backed Provision to Reduce Duplicative Programs Gets Green Light
A bipartisan provision backed by U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill requiring the federal government to cut waste and evaluate and consolidate duplicative green building programs passed the Senate today as part of a wide-spanning energy bill.
Missouri Legislative Day
On Tuesday, April 5, HBA members and staff traveled to Jefferson City for Missouri Legislative Day, an annual trip to the Capitol to meet face to face with state legislators. The day provides an opportunity to maintain relationships with area Senators and Representatives and discuss issues important to the home building industry with the people who have the power to affect change.
March 2016 Kicks Off Busiest Building Season in Years
Permits for new single family residential building reached the highest one-month total since October 2007 with 537 permits issued during March, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report. The 537 single family permits issued in March brings the year’s first quarter total to 1201 single family units compared to last year’s first quarter number of 893—an increase of 34%.
