HUD APPROVES JOPLIN, MISSOURI’S $8.6 MILLION DISASTER RECOVERY PLAN

WASHINGTON - November 6, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today approved a $8.6 million disaster plan by the City of Joplin, Missouri to support its efforts to recover from a devastating tornado in May of 2011.

Summer Ends With a Dip, But Still Strong

WASHINGTON, D.C. - September 18, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- August is frequently a slower month for permits and this year was no different with 354 single family permits compared to 410 in July, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report. This month was still the third highest month of 2013 and the numbers are on target to surpass all the years since 2007. In fact, the year to date tally of 2,710 surpasses the total years of 2009, 2010 and 2011. Leading the way are Jackson and Johnson counties which are both up roughly 40 percent over last year. Department of Economic Development announces new information technology company to locate to Kansas City

Housing Experienced Significant Growth in 2012

Kansas City, MO - January 17, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Single family housing experienced significant growth in 2012 over 2011 and reached the highest number since 2007 according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report. The year ended up 43 percent over last year with 3,299 compared to 2,301 in 2011. Including multi-family units the total for 2012 was 4,948 compared to 2,901 in 2011 for a 71 percent increase.

November Permits Show Housing Continues to Improve in Metro Area

December 18, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Housing production continues to outpace the years since 2008 in cities across the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area. The trend through November continues up as reflected in the monthly average of single family permits. In 2012 that average was 274 compared to 2011 with 192, 2010 with 207, 2009 with 180, and 2008 with 269. Single family permits in November were higher than the yearly average to date and totaled 283 for the best November since 2007. September Area Housing Permits Highest Since 2008

October 25, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- In cities across the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area, housing production continues to climb in 2012 with the total permit number coming in as the highest since 2008, according to the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City’s (HBA) monthly Residential Building Permit Statistics report. September single family permits increased sharply to 379 over 202 single family permits the same month in 2011. Year to date total permits are the highest in three years with 3,419 permits compared to 2011 with 2,304. In 2008 total number of permits issued year to date was 4,136.

Slow Recovery Continues Despite Dip in Single Family Permits in August

September 20, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Home building in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area continued its slow recovery in August with 260 single-family permits issued, bringing the total this year to 2,026 which is a 34.9 percent improvement from the same period in 2011. Last month’s July single-family permits totaled 288.
